Walter Shillington Today’s subject is the Urikar Pro 1. While it serves the same purpose as the Mebak 3, this massage gun is aimed toward the more athletic of us. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a 64-year-old chain-smoker, and I can handle the Urikar Pro 1 without difficulty. However, this device is designed primarily for those who go for a run every morning, enjoy playing rugby on a muddy field, or spend their free time in the gym.

Description

The Urikar Pro 1 comes fitted within a soft and very protective case along with eight massage heads, a charging adapter, and a user’s guide. The fully-packed case weighs 4.9 pounds and measures 11.5 x 13 x 4.25 inches. Walter Shillington While the Urikar Pro 1 tips the scales at 2.1 pounds, the increased maneuverability provided by its adjustable handle ably copes with the weight. This massage gun’s power switch and charging input are located at the butt of its handle. A rotary switch, positioned just above the handle, is used to select one of six speeds. Below that, a simple pushbutton allows the handle to be rotated. A second pushbutton, situated at the back of the massage gun, is used to choose between maintaining the pace determined by the rotary switch, fluctuating between the slowest and fastest speed, or providing a staircase type effect climbing through all six levels. A fourth selection induces heat when the heating massage head is installed. This device is equipped with a built-in 2600mAh rechargeable lithium battery.

Operation

A light circling the butt of the massage gun’s handle illuminates once the device is powered on. When power reserve drops below 20 percent, this light changes from green to red. The Urikar Pro 1 generates a percussive massage, beating the attached head repetitively against the user’s muscles. This softens muscle tissue and soothes the area around them, promoting blood flow and relieving stiffness. A handle-mounted rotary-switch selects one of six different speeds. In constant mode, this setting is used to control the massage gun. When the fluctuation mode is selected, the gun switches between the lowest and the highest speed. A third tap of the pushbutton initiates the staircase mode, forcing the massage gun motor to rotate through all six speeds. A long press on the back-mounted mode pushbutton shifts the device into heating mode. If the heat massage head is inserted, it will be heated to a point slightly above normal body temperature.

Safety Precautions

Bruising can occur regardless of the control setting or the pressure applied. Check treated areas frequently and immediately stop at the first sign of pain or discomfort. Use the Urikar Pro 1 only on soft tissue. Do not massage your neck, head, or any hard or bony areas.

Safety Devices

A sensor ensures the gun will not operate unless it is being held by its handle. In addition, intelligent over-voltage protection is utilized to prevent the battery from becoming overcharged. Walter Shillington

Massage Heads

The Urikar Pro 1 comes equipped with eight head attachments designed to target specific areas of the body and suit various needs. These attachments range from a small bullet-shaped head suitable for tendons to a large utensil consisting of three round heads intended for relaxing shoulder muscles.

Battery

A 2600mAh lithium rechargeable battery is incorporated into the Urikar Pro 1’s handle. This battery should last up to three hours. Operating time, however, decreases considerably if the heating mode is activated. The AC adapter connects to a charging port located at the butt of the message gun’s handle.

Special Features

The Urikar Pro 1 is equipped with a handle that can be swiveled into two different positions. This allows a user to reach and massage up to 90 percent of their body. Use of the heated massage head after exercise promotes the decomposition of lactic acid. This head is suitable for whole-body muscle massage and relaxation.

Overall Impression

This massage gun is moderately priced, feature-packed, and very powerful. It can be set to six different speeds and includes several automatic modes. Although I appreciate the adjustable handle and heated massage head, what most impresses me is the effort Urikar has expended to minimize this device’s noise level. The Urikar Pro 1 is recommended. DreamerMeg from Northern Ireland on November 19, 2020: Ah, I hadn’t known about massage guns. I think I might need something like this. Not because I am doing a lot of exercise but because I am not. My exercise classes stopped with COVID and don’t seem likely to start again soon. Meantime my old muscles are getting very stiff and painful, possibly also dormant butt syndrome. So I may just have to look into getting one of these, maybe even for Christmas! Thanks for the idea and the information.
