Creating an aesthetic server doesn’t have to be overly difficult, as there are plenty of tools out there to help you and we’re going to take a look at those too.
1. Focus On Channel Names
Firstly, you’ll need to focus on the channel names within your server. When a new member joins your server, one of the very first things they’ll look at are the channel groupings and their names too. If they’re looking for an aesthetic server to join and they see cute kaomoji in your channel names, they’ll be sure it’s an aesthetic server! You can generate your very own kaomoji by using various tools, which I’ve listed in this article on Discord text fonts. Using text font generators and other tools, you can generate aesthetic and vaporwave-style text for your channel names.
2. Add Kaomoji to Channel Names
You’ll also need to add some cute kaomoji to your channel names for added effect! These cool kaomoji are shown below as examples, but there are several kaomoji sites out there to help you such as Cute Kaomoji amongst others. On these sites you can copy and paste kaomoji to add to your channel or role names. If you look at aesthetic server templates (I discuss this further below), you’ll find that a common trait most aesthetic servers share are kaomoji included in the channel names. They’re super cute and very popular these days, so do make sure to take a look at some kaomoji and see which ones you’d like to add to your channel names! Also, emoji can be a cute addition also, such as hearts, sparkles and so forth. Lots of emojis also depict landscapes and other natural phenomena, and these would look wonderful as part of channel names. Or, celestial emoji are also very popular in aesthetic servers also, including galaxies, planets and so much more. If you’re looking for examples of cute emoji to add to channel names, you can find lots of these in my guide to cute Discord emoji, if you’re interested!
3. Make Sure to Add Some Interests-Related Channels
No server is complete without dedicated channels for certain interests. Many of your server members may want to discuss their favourite music, or kpop bands, or the latest novels they’ve read. These channels provide a lovely space for like-minded individuals to collaborate, discuss news together and get to know each other! Some interests you could add include:
Art Fiction/Writing Jewelry making Crafts Stationery Music Specific games such as Cyberpunk 2077 Lofi music
For example, if you created a stationery channel for those that love adorable stickers, cute washi tapes and so forth, you could provide links to resources such as digital printables or reviews such as this one about aesthetic washi tapes. These are all examples of resources which could be shared and to help others discover cool ideas related to their hobby. Bullet journaling is also an incredibly popular hobby which could have its own dedicated channel in the server too. For music fans, why not create a dedicated channel allowing everyone to post their favourite tracks? Or you could create a crafts channel, where everyone can post their latest creations and get feedback. There are so many niches out there you could create channels for, and it’s a great way to help people discuss topics with those interested in the same niche. The list goes on, you’re only limited by your imagination! For other channel ideas, make sure to check out my article on Discord channel ideas too!
4. Music Events
Music events are a great way to help server members get to know each other, listen to music together, and discover cool new songs! I’ve always been a huge fan of music events, and always looked forward to them. You can host music events weekly in your server’s voice channels, for instance, and ping those that are online during that time (using the command: @here) asking them if they’d like to join the event. You could also order Discord fast food or coffee as an aesthetic break from whatever you’re up to. Nothing beats a good virtual coffee, and it could be a great way to get to know other members too! Plus, music events and other live events can help make your server all the more active too, which is always an added benefit! Encouraging others to take part will help foster your server’s growth and is sure to help you maintain a great community spirit. Dark academia, vaporwave and lofi are all trending genres these days, so make sure to find out which genres your server’s members are most interested in!
5. Make Use of Gradients
Gradients are a very popular design trend these days, and are an aesthetic design staple you can add to your server’s branding. You could add a gradient background to your server’s icon, for instance, or a full gradient to your server’s website. If you want to generate backgrounds, you can also use background generators such as Inixia and take a screenshot of the background generator. You can then add these exported backgrounds to your designs or export the CSS for use in your website. Gradients, pastel colors, and pretty pink colors make beautiful backgrounds for any aesthetic website.
6. Pastel Role Colors
Each role can also get its own color, so you should add some cute pastel colors to your roles! If you want ideas on cool roles you can add to your server, make sure to check out my guide on Discord role ideas. I’ve provided some beautiful examples of pastel color inspiration along with their Hex codes below, so you can add some of these too or create your own pastel colors from these!
7. Pastel/Aesthetic Imagery
You should also have a library of pastel and aesthetic imagery to share, as it can add a lovely aesthetic touch to your server. However, make sure to only use images that you have permission to use! That’s why I’d recommend using public domain images or images from Unsplash, for example. Unsplash also has several pastel collections, where you can choose some lovely pastel imagery. You can add these images to your server’s website, branding, header images or even in the announcements channel. Try adding images that include the following:
oceans vintage photos gradient/holographic-style photos macarons and other deserts
All these are quite aesthetic and would look lovely in your server! Having an aesthetic profile picture, especially if you’re a moderator of the server, would definitely help establish your server’s desire to be aesthetic! If you and your fellow moderators also have aesthetic profile photos, then new members will definitely appreciate this! I’ve written an article on how to create an aesthetic profile picture, if you’re interested!
Tip: Create Aesthetic Servers With Templates
Need further guidance or want to have an aesthetic server created for you? The solution is simple, just use templates! I’ve always been a huge fan of using Discord server templates; within a few clicks you’ll have your very own server set up and ready to go! You can use these to create your very own server, complete with channel names containing kaomoji, as well as a great set of roles. If you want more server templates to try out, you should also check out my other article on the best Discord templates, it contains aesthetic server templates also!
